CueLight Privacy Policy

CueLight is a screen recorder built so your video never has to leave your machine. This policy states plainly what we do and do not hold. Where a claim is a technical fact about how the product works, we keep it literally true.

What we never collect

• Your recordings. Screen, camera, microphone and system audio are captured and edited entirely in your browser and stored locally (OPFS). Nothing about the video content is transmitted to us — not the files, not thumbnails, not transcripts, not tokens that could reach them.
• Your Google Drive contents. When you choose to upload, files go directly from your browser to your own Drive using the drive.file scope, which only lets CueLight see files it created. We request no broader access and hold no Drive tokens on our servers.

What we do store, and why

To run accounts, the trial and one-time purchases, our licensing service (a Cloudflare Worker + database) stores the minimum needed:

• Your Google account identifier and email address, obtained when you sign in with Google. The identifier anchors your trial and licence so they follow your account across devices and reinstalls. We use the email to match your purchase and for support.
• Your trial and licence state — when your trial started, how many exports you have used, and whether you have purchased. This is what the extension checks to unlock features.
• A random per-install identifier for counting device activations against your licence. It is not derived from your hardware and does not fingerprint you.
• Your waitlist email, if you joined the pre-launch waitlist: the address you gave us, when you joined, and whether we have sent the launch announcement. It is used for exactly one thing — telling you CueLight is out. Email us and we delete it.

That is the complete list. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising trackers, and analytics/telemetry in the extension is off by default.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Card details are entered on Paddle's checkout and handled by Paddle; we never see or store them. Paddle tells us only that a purchase for your account completed.

Site analytics

Pages on cuelight.xyz use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It is cookieless, sets no identifiers, and does not store IP addresses; what we see is aggregate only — page views, countries, referrers. The extension itself contains no analytics; telemetry there is off by default.

Sharing links

If you create a share link, we store the link's slug and settings (title, poster image, view counts) so the share page can render. The video itself continues to stream from your Google Drive to the viewer — never through us.

Your control

• Sign out at any time from the extension's settings; this removes the cached licence token from your browser.
• To delete your account record and licence data, email privacy@cuelight.xyz.
• Local recordings are yours; deleting them in the dashboard removes them from your machine. We hold no copy to delete.
